The delegation of Liaoning International Cooperation Group went to the Gates Foundation's Beijing Representative Office for an exchange visit.
On March 20, Zhang Yuhui, chairman of Liaoning International Cooperation Group, led a team of three to the Beijing Representative Office of the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation for business talks with Zhu Qinghua, Lang Lin, deputy directors of the Representative Office, and Fan Xian, senior project officer. The two sides conducted in-depth exchanges on the promotion of the Cote d'Ivoire rice value chain project.
Fan Xian, senior project officer of the Gates Foundation, said that after the last visit to Liaoning International Cooperation Group, relevant personnel of the Gates Foundation immediately went to Cote d'Ivoire to have in-depth communication with relevant officials of the African Development Bank on the rice industry value chain project in Cote d'Ivoire. At the same time, he conducted research on the Gegedu rice reclamation project and visited the Counsellor of the Economic and Commercial Office of the Chinese Embassy in Cote d'Ivoire. Deputy Director Zhu Qinghua highly affirmed the progress of the project research and praised the achievements of Liaoning International Cooperation Group in science and technology for decades, and also took another key step for the in-depth development of bilateral cooperation. Deputy Director Lang Lin introduced the "fund bank" cooperation between the Gates Foundation and the Global Development Promotion Center of the National Agency for International Development Cooperation. At the same time, he inquired about the company's application for related projects and expressed his continued attention and support.
Chairman Zhang Yuhui said that Liaoning International Cooperation Group's aid to Africa has been going on for decades. During this period, the company implemented assistance projects such as rice seed breeding, rice planting, agricultural technology training and farmland water conservancy projects, which enabled farmers in Cote d'Ivoire to increase their income. At present, Liaoning International Cooperation Group has declared the project materials of "achievement bank" and "incubation bank" involved in the "fund bank". At present, the cooperation between the company and the Gates Foundation is not only an extension of foreign aid projects, but also a concrete manifestation of expanding multilateral cooperation. The combination of "investment and aid", that is, the combination of investment and aid, will further promote local farmers to reduce poverty and promote the continuous increase of rice production in Kofang, promote the sustainable development of Liaoning International Cooperation Group's aid business.
